ISHRS Annual Scientific Meeting Chicago 2015

Dr. Boden, President of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons leads board exams and training.

Dr. Boden, in his role as the current President of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ABHRS) board of directors participated as an oral examiner for physicians who aspire to meeting the standards and achieving certification as a Diplomate of the ABHRS. The examination was taken by 18 candidates from several countries around the world who attended the annual ISHRS Scientific Meeting.

Currently the ABHRS has 193 Diplomates; 90 are from the USA and 27 countries are represented. The ABHRS is the credentialing body for hair transplantation world-wide, and offers both ABHRS and IBHRS certification.

Global Council of Hair Restoration Surgery

As President of the ABHRS, Dr. Boden attended the Global Council of Hair Restoration Surgery and reported on assuring the council that Diplomates attest to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards in accordance with the ABHRS Ethical Guidelines and the ISHRS guidelines regarding misleading and inappropriate messaging.

Dr. Boden was also Course Director for the session on Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) using the Powered Blunt Punch. He instructed 28 experienced physicians from North and South America, Europe, and Asia who enrolled in the course to learn the latest techniques and developments in FUE.

The 23rd Annual meeting of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery had the highest attendance of any previous meeting, with many new physicians in attendance. In addition to teaching a course on FUE, Dr. Boden provided a poster presentation Safe Donor Area Planning in Follicular Unit Extraction. This is critically important to assure that transplanted hair is only taken from areas where the patient should not lose their hair in the future.
