Follicular Unit Extraction

FUE Hair Transplant in Connecticut (CT)

For individuals who either want the option to shave their head or keep their hair very short (a “#1 or #2” setting with hair clipper) after hair restoration surgery, Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is the latest technological advance in surgical hair restoration. It is an exacting technique that minimizes any scar appearance in the back of the scalp and requires great attention to detail.

Similar to traditional follicular unit hair transplantation, FUE’s also utilizes individual grafts from the back and sides of the patient’s head. The resulting scars are tiny- less than 1 mm in diameter- and if you choose to shave your head, the donor scar will be generally undetectable.

Dr. Scott Boden is one of the very few surgeons in the world who performs the FUE transplant procedure. This time intensive procedure usually takes a full day to perform. Recovery takes about 3-5 days and while there are no stitches, you do have a number of tiny scabs during the healing process. This method may not be ideal for everyone and is generally best for those looking for a single small session or several smaller sessions to achieve a full correction. Dr. Boden will be happy to address this option with you personally.
